Here are some teasers from our styled photo shoot yesterday!!! I think this was possibly the most fun I have had at a session, and the hardest work, my legs are crazy sore today!  I loved the clothes, loved the props and love how they turned out! Thank you to the ever so talented Melissa for making this FAB teepee, and a big thanks to Erin from Cricket & Bean for all her wonderful crafts/props and ideas! Big thanks to each family I worked with yesterday and thank you for bringing your gorgeous children to spend the day with me.

Some of you may or may not know that I my family is aboriginal. Even before becoming a photographer, I have had this vision in my head, kind of vintage/hippy/native themed images that I wanted to capture……and these images captured it perfectly, and honestly, without having the amazing families to work with, I wouldn’t have had it all fall into place so well, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart. <3 So they have a little native inside the soul of these photos, kinda like me :O)

YAY! Baby Jake is home!!!! After arriving premature and spending 22 days in Kelowna, this little sweetie is finally home, and was I ever excited to hear he was ready to come see me for his newborn photos! As you can imagine how hard it would be to watch your precious little angel in the hospital, I am so glad these guys are home now and everyone is happy and healthy!!! He is so tiny, a whole 5 pounds, 13 ounces tiny! And just the sweetest little guy. He made me work pretty hard at first, but he gave in and fell fast asleep, just like a baby…… (how silly that saying is, anyone that has ever been around babies know babies don’t sleep! lol). I WANTED TO KEEP HIM. seriously. adorable.

Well it has been one year since this little man’s newborn session with me!!!! I can’t believe he is already 1!!!! Well him and his big brother came back to see me for his first birthday cake smash session!!! I have followed this family since her maternity photos when she was pregnant with this little guy, they are an amazing family and I always enjoy chatting with mom. Well, this lil guy did awesome! He even had a trial run at home with his actual birthday cake, and apparently he grabbed a giant hand full of cake so we thought for sure he would LOVE this and make a GIANT mess! BUT he decided this time he just wanted to eat the icing, one finger-full at a time, for awhile anyway. They are the cutest boys, hope you enjoyed your first birthday little man, and thanks for hanging out with me! (The first image is of his newborn session one year ago, see the change!?!?! they grow sooo fast!!!)

Well………..it was a crazy couple weeks hosting this “cutest baby” contest, and it is now closed!!! This one was a little different than the last one, and in my opinion a lot smoother. The only thing that did happen (a lot) was that many people voted for more than one baby…..and unfortunately I can’t do anything about it. To be honest, not everyone thought this one was fair……..and if I am still being honest, I think there were a few people just plain upset about it and felt it was a popularity contest for the parents. And in a way, I guess most contests like that are, which I don’t like. Yes I don’t necessarily like that one baby should ever be named “cuter” than any other baby, because honestly, each and every baby I have ever seen is just plain adorable. But please know that just because you didn’t get the most “likes” doesn’t mean that your baby isn’t the cutest. Cause frankly, that’s just not true. I held this contest because it is a fun way to show off your babies and a really simple way to win a gift. Because I know any parents deserve gifts once in awhile, its hard work looking after our babies!!!

So, that being said I decided not only will I give a gift to the baby with the most votes, but I also have added a prize for a second winner. I decided I wanted to get the opinion of unbiased people and went to a group I know to get their input…..and they all agreed!!!!!! HERE THEY ARE………………………
